Story

War looms over the land of Shelah as their peace treaty with the rival nation of Ishvi is obstructed. The night before Princess Julyn was to be married off to the Prince of Ishvi (Tristan) an abduction took place. This enraged the Prince and heightened the already tense situation between the two nations.

All eyes suspected you, the General of Shelah (as well as the fiance of Julyn) of the kidnapping. You were jailed but escaped into the night. You now must find the Princess as well as uncover the truth about her kidnapper.

About

Following the hybrid Adventure/RPG style of the Quest for Glory series, Betrayed Alliance is meant to be an original throwback to the genre of Quest for Glories 1 and 2. As an SCI0 game it features the characteristic type-interface as well as mouse controls.

Going beyond the traditional SCI0 games it makes use of SCIAudio, which allows for mp3s and wav files in additions to MIDIs. Betrayed Alliance uses mp3s of midi-created music, however, in an effort to keep in the spirit of the older games.

Walkthroughs/Hints

  • Wizard's Room: Exiting the Wizard's Room requires you to take the map and then look at the wizard in the mirror. After that, the Wizard will tell you how to use the map to leave.
  • Pond: From the pond area to the next puzzle location there is much to do. The Wizard tells you that Julyn is in the castle, but all the ways there seem closed off to you. From talking to others you can gather that the rumor is she is not in the castle, but rather taken to a haunted cavern along the eastern side of the mountains. To get there you must traverse basically the entirety of the outside game area.

There are many things to do along the way, but we will cover those when they become necessary.

Further Walkthrough information will be forthcoming.
